Environmental & Social Due Diligence

Environmental Due Diligence is primarily carried out as per the ASTM Standards include;

  • Environmental Site Assessment (ESA): Phase-I (E1527-13)
  • Transaction Screen Process: TSP (E1528-14)
  • Environmental Site Assessment (ESA): Phase-II (E1903-11)

Need of EDD

  • Tracking & incorporating ongoing changes in environmental legislations & related risks
  • Investigations & understanding the Ambient Air quality, Groundwater quality, Contaminated Sites, Hazardous Material involvement
  • Identification of potential source of site contamination
  • Increased Profitability through risk reduction

Environmental Audit

Environment Audit (EA) is the process to understand the status of various environmental parameters at the project activity & its surroundings” Environmental Audit is also popularly known as “Green Audit” & it needs to be carried as per the Environment Protection Act (EPA), 1986.

Need of Environmental Audit

  • Understanding the status of environmental parameters at the project activity
  • Identification of any significant deviations
  • Identification of Mitigatory measures
  • Input for the Form-V which need to be submitted to Pollution Control Board every year
  • Increased revenue through savings

Environmental Monitoring & Analysis

Environment Monitoring & Analysis is the component of the environmental audit which is generally carried out to understand the status of environmental parameters” It examines the environmental parameters (Ambient air quality, Groundwater quality, effluent quality) are within the prescribed norms or not.

Need of Env. Monitoring & Analysis

It is prime requirement of bi-annual (6 monthly) compliance report which need to be furnished to MoEF&CC as well as State Pollution Control Board (SPCBs)

  • Identification of any significant deviations
  • Identification of Mitigatory measures
  • Input for the Form-V which need to be submitted to Pollution Control Board every year
  • Reduced threats to environment

Environmental Management Plan

Environment Management Plan (EMP) is the systematic steps to manage the environmental parameters from posing any significant impacts on environment as well as bringing them down to acceptable levels”

EMP is the essential ingredient to have the effective Environmental Management System

Need of EMP

  • Effective management plan assists causing minimal or no impact on the environment
  • Helps in efficient utilisations on available resources & avoids exploitation
  • Increases profitability through resource conservation & reduced treatment costs

Helps embedding commitment & inclusiveness towards responsible environmental activities.

Energy Audit

Energy Auditing is the process of Identifying the energy intensive areas & implementing energy conservation measures in order to reduce the overall energy consumption” Energy Audits can be rapid & detailed audits.

Need of Energy Auditing

Energy Conserved is energy generated

  • Monetary Gains through reduction in energy cost
  • Identification of required maintenance or replacements of electrical utilities, cables & wirings
  • Efficient utilisation of available energy
  • Lowering CO2 emissions.

Environmental & Social Impact Assessment

Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) is a tool for anticipating the potential impacts that a project can cause on the surrounding environment upon its implementation”. Now-a-days, the aspect of Social Impacts is also integrated with Environmental Impact Assessment studies in order to understand the impact of project on surrounding settlements.

Need of Environmental & Social Impact Assessment

Identification of potential impacts on Environment & Society

  • Estimation of the extent & severity of the impacts
  • Identifying mitigatory measures
  • Compliance to the legal requirements

Waste Management

“Management of waste is the application of various methodologies & tools through which solid wastes are made reusable or disposed in safe, hygienic & sustainable manner”

Need of Waste Management

 Complying Legal requirements

  • Reducing stress on ultimate disposal points/Landfills
  • Generating safe end products (Compost/Biogas) which can be reused
  • Lowering the GHG emissions
